I joined Aether Gym a little over a year now. When I joined I had a goal to become a firefighter, but I knew that after almost seven years of not really exercising and basically being a slob that I was in no shape to even try out. Nine months later, I had the physical assessment for the fire department... and smashed it. I wouldn't have been able to do that without the help of Aether Gym. When I first joined I couldn't even lift 70kg off of the ground. I can now deadlift 150kg and can run for way more than a few minutes without feeling like dying. I've also been told by multiple people that I'm starting to look fitter and more muscular, which is always nice to hear!
My first session really challenged me, and made me really hungry to come back. I came back because not only was that session the most fun I've ever had while working out, but because of the coaches and the members. Everyone here is so friendly and the coaches are the most supportive people I've ever met. They will work through with you on each session to make sure that you are doing the correct movements, and they'll be there to celebrate with you for every single PB you hit. I have a lot of previous injuries from work and from when I used to play football. These were Injuries that I thought would pretty much prevent me from ever working out properly, but I was wrong. Each coach knows about my injuries and will work through with me each session to help me and make sure that I can still participate without hurting myself further.
For most of my life I would constantly find excuses to not go to the gym or workout. However after joining Aether Gym I've not once made an excuse. I start and finish work at 5am and 5:30pm respectively, yet I still show up each night after work even though I know I won't be home until around 8pm. I've made some amazing friends at Aether, so coming to the gym is my favourite part of the day. The coaches at Aether are not only dedicated to making sure I'm physically healthy, but mentally too. There's a huge emphasis from each coach on mental health. They'll check in on you each night and if you have any problems will move heaven and earth to help out. When I first started I was going through a lot of personal issues, and after a year of being at the gym, I can say that I feel like a completely different person. I have a much more positive outlook on life and for once feel like I'm on the right track. I don't even want to imagine where I would be had I not met Benjamin and the other coaches and members. Benjamin is such a selfless person. Last year, when I competed in my first competition, he gave up his entire weekend to come and support myself and the others from the gym that were competing. I've only ever felt such support from my parents. You'll never once not feel like a champion when he's around and he'll be behind you every step of the way.
If you want to make a positive change in your life, I can't recommend Aether Gym enough. You won't regret it!

I came to Aether Gym looking for a change from my previous disappointing personal trainers. From the minute I signed up I have felt nothing but love from everyone at aether. I am more focused on my goals and with the help of all the trainers I feel my mindset has changed.
Since starting here, I’m more motivated, I don’t slack off and Caitlin has really helped the quality of my training. I’m in the gym 2-3 times a week, and my favourite part is that I have so much more variety with my training and goals in mind that I’m always moving towards.
On top of this, we’ve also addressed my nutrition. I now pay more regular attention to my food, I’m mindful of my nutritional health and I have a far more balanced approach to my eating.

Initially I joined Aether Gym to get in shape for a friend's wedding and to replace the active lifestyle I enjoyed whilst living abroad for four years. Almost two years after my first fortnightly session with Caitlin I am now taking five classes a week, achieving fitness goals I never thought possible, and meeting new people with whom I regularly see at the organised social events. I even met my current housemate through Aether! Seeing the changes in myself and others at Aether, both physically and mentally, is a true testament of the positive and inspirational environment the trainers have created. I look forward to every class and enjoy the social community aspect as much as the physical.

I started going to the gym with a friend to build strength and improve our overall wellbeing. While we were there we had little to no experience in what we knew or what to do properly. We decided that we wanted more from our training, and we knew we needed some help. We got in touch with Coach Benjamin at Aether Gym, and training soon became more than just showing up and lifting weights. It felt good to have someone wanting you to come in and perform to your best and to show so much support.
I had come to Aether Gym not knowing I had a shoulder problem but soon realised that I couldn’t keep up with my friend in our training. Our coach jumped on this as soon as he could, and with plenty of experience behind him, he had given me exercises and stretches to perform every day with training. Thanks to this, my shoulders have not only developed muscle but a lot of mobility that I have never had in the past. I can now perform more training than I used to thanks to my coach.
Being with Aether Gym I came to know that this is more than just training, but more of a family and a community where everyone gets along and has a laugh together. I enjoy coming into my sessions knowing that I’ll have a good time and get the proper training done correctly.

I decided to join the gym to improve my fitness level. At first I was anxious as I did not feel confident working out in the gym alone. Hence my journey with Tersey began. Tersey’s enthusiasm and motivation has kept me going back. Over the last year with Tersey, my fitness level has vastly improved. I first heard about Aether Gym through my roommate. At first I was hesitant to give them a go, as I initially thought ‘I’m not fit or strong enough to do this!’. As it turns out, I was so wrong and the second I walked into the gym it changed and is continuing to change my life.
I’d just turned 20 when I joined and was living the party lifestyle. At 65kg I was the heaviest I’d ever weighed because I lived off McDonald’s and consumed alcohol every weekend. The first meeting I had with my Ben he asked me all the questions any coach would, but what shocked me the most was his interest into my mental heath. This is what kept me coming back and I was happy I had finally found a gym that wasn’t all fitness based, and understood that wanting to lose weight involves sorting your mental state out as well.
Fast forward six months and I now weigh 58kg, I’ve gained muscle in my arms and legs and leaned out my stomach. But what I’m most impressed with was when I started I barely could lift the empty 15kg bar and struggled to do one burpee. Now I’m adding 5kg plates onto my bar and doing multiple burpees with ease. I couldn’t recommended Aether Gym enough to anyone that’s questioning whether to join or not. Members become friends in days, coaches actually care about you and check on you daily and there’s not a class without laughter. Aether Gym has changed my life and it can change yours too!

I originally started with Aether Gym as I needed to have my second knee reconstruction and wanted to prepare for surgery to ensure my recovery was the best it could be. I met with Coach Ben, discussed where I was at and where I needed to be, and together we came up with a plan. By the time of my surgery I had lost 18kg and strengthened my legs and core. It’s now four years post-surgery and I am squatting 125kg.
Over this time I have become healthier, fitter, stronger and happier. I have learned about healthy eating including how to deal with eating mishaps. I have become fitter making everyday activities easier. I have become stronger which has increased my bone density. I have become happier meeting so many new friends who support me 100%; this community is truly amazing.
The coaches are knowledgeable, supportive, there for you if you need a chat and great fun. They are able to work around any injury, help with rehabilitation, push you when you need it, and offer nutrition advice. They also organise social activities where we all get to relax and have fun whether it’s out for a good burger, ten-pin bowling, going for a hike, playing bubble soccer (so much fun), or having a picnic.
This family is there for you, whether it is to push you with that heavy lift, cheer you on for one more rep, help you move house, celebrate a birthday, congratulate you on an engagement or to just have a laugh with.
Most importantly through my time here at Aether I have learned to have a healthier approach to food and exercise.

When I first joined Aether Gym, I jumped in with my best mate and the goal of getting that ripped summer body every young bloke is after. It didn't take long for my goals to take a pretty big turn after spending some time with the team though, and now I find myself thinking about my training very differently. Instead of worrying about what I look like so much, I find myself chasing a new PB or one-rep max, pushing for strength increases and caring a lot more about my performance and numbers on the bar instead of numbers on the scale and a sculpted figure.
Being here has changed my life in so many ways. I eat better, and to fuel my body because I've learned about what it wants and needs. I'm learning how my body works and how I can make it stronger and more efficient, and I have more confidence in myself and my physical abilities. I believe building strength in the gym also builds strength in the self, and I have seen this in my own life. I am also now a part of a community, and the team here is insanely supportive, with an elite level of knowledge and guidance given to each and every person from all the coaches.

Before joining Aether gym, I had spent years forcing myself to go to the gym with no real direction or motivation. I had an extremely unhealthy relationship with food and endured years of tormenting myself over my weight. I was fixated on my appearance and how others viewed me.
I find it hard to explain the impact Aether has had on my life, because it has changed so many aspects for the better. I’ve finally found a hobby which is good for me mentally and physically. I’ve made life long friendships with a community that nurtures, supports and encourages one another. I have trained like I never have before and enjoy every second of it. I’ve participated in local CrossFit comps, hit some pretty heavy PBs and completely changed my outlook of healthy living.
Since joining Aether I’ve lost 15kg, something I never thought would be possible. I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for my amazing coaches and Aether family.

I came to Aether Gym in early 2016, weighing a very consistent 67kg, which wasn’t a problem for me. I had a background in athletics and, looking back, I’d say I was muscular, but still had the lean shape of a runner. I didn’t know anything about training in a gym setting, and little did I know that my supposed ‘supplementary program’ would in time turn out to be the place that I spend several nights a week.
Each day I come in for class, I’m greeted with a smile from the coach, and I chat with all the other members who are now my friends as we warm up together. The community at the gym is nothing like you would expect; it feels like a family rather than a bunch of headphone zombies lifting weights. I genuinely look forward to my training as well as the regular social events we have outside of the gym.
From day one, I had a Personal Coach who helped me learn everything I needed to know in regards to my training, the importance of my food, sleep and recovery. He worked – and continues to work - closely with my physio to help get me back to training after many injuries. He has been there for every single competition that I’ve entered, helping me to stay motivated, focused on my goals, and in the best condition I can be. He is there to celebrate every little (or huge) PB I make, and to pick me up off the floor after I try my heart out. The amount of effort and care he has invested in me is one of the biggest reasons for my success, and I always give it my all for myself, and for him.
As we pass the middle of 2019, the start of my fourth year here (I can say with pride) I weigh a consistent 72kg, which is definitely not a problem for me! I have a new family of like-minded people all invested in each other’s personal growth in all areas of their lives. I have new habits and knowledge that serve me in everything I do to create real and lasting results. And to this day, I have my Personal Coach, Benjamin, guiding me every step of the way through my continued growth.

I’ve been with Aether Gym for nearly a year now. My initial goal was to lose weight, and in addition to losing near 10kg I’ve gained an amazing bunch of people who I love to be around and train with. Aether is more than a gym - it is a family where everyone is welcomed with open arms no matter their age, fitness level or ability. Everyone is there for the same reason, and everyone will encourage you to keep moving which is fantastic. The atmosphere during workouts makes you want to keep going, to push for that extra rep or add on that extra kilo. Aether is a loving family that I’m grateful to be a part of. They have pushed me so far outside of my comfort zone, which I hated at the time, but it has helped me achieve so so much. I have hit some crazy PBs, I’m actually running and I can do box jumps (which is a big deal for me!). I have achieved more in this year than I ever thought possible and things that I used to be reluctant to do I actually enjoy now. Aether has changed me physically and mentally, I love training with them and I’m excited to see what’s next.

I was anxious about stepping into the gym for the first time in 10 years, but I contacted Aether Gym to work on my overall health and balance. I knew I needed the guidance and accountability of a personal coach because I had no idea where to start. My coach, Caitlin, was good at easing me into training at the right pace to challenge me but also not scare me away! It’s been 10 months now and I am astounded I haven’t quit! The whole team at Aether Gym make me feel so welcome and crack me up every week. They’ve really made a community for their clients, even those of us who don’t join classes.
I’ve noticed a lot more stability and strength in myself, and I get puffed out far less. Caitlin and the team point out all my PBs and are good at celebrating all my victories and improvements, no matter how small - even those I can’t see myself. They’ve been flexible working about my changing schedules and injuries. I am so proud of myself for taking the plunge and getting help to get fit and happy I found the Aether Gym team and Caitlin.

I’ve been training with Aether Gym for over 18 months now. When I first started I was out of shape, my balance was poor and I was struggling with a knee injury. In the time working with my Coach, my fitness has never been better, I have improved my balance, I have no knee pain and I recently deadlifted 220kg!
